Amfibolity tvoří relativně hojné vločky a nepravidelná čočkovitá tělesa v metapelitech pestré skupiny moldanubika. Nejhojnější jsou pyroxenické a pyroxenicko-granátické amfibolity. Amfibolity jsou pravděpodobně metamorfovaným ekvivalentem tholeiitických bazaltů.

The amphibolites form relatively abundant intercalations and irregular lenses in the metapelites of the Varied Group of the Moldanubian Zone. According to their modal compositions pyroxene-bearing and/or pyroxene-garnet bearing amphibolites are the most abundant.
