Annotation
Nodular papillomatous lesions combined with proliferation and formation of scales and crusts were observed on both tarsi of a dead chaffinch in February 2004 in the eastern part of the Czech Republic. Presence of papillomavirus was confirmed by electron microscope examination and histological study. Numerous females and larvae of Knemidokoptes jamaicensis were found in the crust scraps from both legs. The beak papillomatosis in a chaffinch was observed for the first time.
