Nondimensional similarity parameters depend on parameters that scale down fully, or that are specified by design, or are scale invariant. This fact has to be taken into account in similarity considerations, as well as the fact that some flow phenomena cannot fully develop (time factor).
Bezrozměrové podobnostní parametry se při zmenšování rozměrů mění různě - některé závisejí i na návrhu stroje, některé - závisející jen na vlastnostech tekutiny - se nemění vůbec. Navíc se při zmenšování rozměrů projevuje i skutečnost, že některé jevy potřebují na svůj vývoj více času, než jaký mají k disposici.Studie uvádí i vzájemný vliv povrchových a objemových sil při zmenšování rozměrů.
