A paper deals with both theoretical and practical aspects of sustainability. Strategy of sustainability is based on a long-term concept of development. It sometimes makes the problems in the transitional societies, for which the most unsustainable fact is their lagging behind the leading countries and they would like to cancel this gap as fast as possible.

Příspěvek pojednává o různých teoretických i praktických aspektech konceptu udržitelnosti. Strategie udržitelnosti vychází z dlouhodobé perspektivy rozvoje. To někdy naráží na problémy v tranzitivních společnostech, které za neudržitelný pokládají především svoje zaostávání za nejvyspělejšími zeměmi a chtěli by tento rozdíl vyrovnat co nejdříve.
