We record the northernmost disturbance of boreal forests caused by a tropical cyclone.
Disturbed over 80 km2 of forests, emitted 2.7 Mtons of greenhouse gases Zonal spruce-fir forest was the most vulnerable type. Emergence of tropical cyclones leads to significant disturbances in boreal forests.
