Studie se zabývá vybranými aspekty reflexe basilejského koncilu v pozdním středověku, Nejprve analyzuje utrakvistický narativ o údajném neúspěchu koncilu při disputacích s husity v roce 1433. Dále věnuje pozornost obrazu koncilu v českých dějepisných dílech a v této souvislosti si všímá nezájmu o basilejská kompaktáta v nejstarší vrstvě Starých letopisů českých. Studie rovněž odhaluje možné způsoby, jakými zahraniční katoličtí intelektuálové využívali autoritu koncilu v proti utrakvistické polemice. V neposlední řadě se autor zaměřuje na pozdně středověkou reflexi tří klíčových zástupců koncilu, z nichž nejvýraznější stopu v paměti zanechal Filibert z Coutances.

The study deals with selected aspects of the reflection of the Council of Basel in the late Middle Ages. First, it analyses the Utraquist narrative about an alleged failure of the council in the disputations with the Hussites in 1433. Next, it pays attention to the portrayal of the council in Czech historiographical works and in connection with that, it addresses the lack of interest in the Compactata of Basel in the oldest layer of the “Staré letopisy české”. The study also reveals possible ways of employing the authority of the council by Catholic intellectuals within anti-Utraquist polemic. Last but not least, the author focuses on the late medieval reflection of three significant representatives of the council, the most memorable being Philibert of Coutances.
