Zvláštní pozornost je věnována okolnostem vzniku a hlavním myšlenkám jeho nejslavnějšího díla Marxismus a filosofie. Ústřední téma kapitoly ovšem tvoří otázka způsobu, jakým Korsch přistupoval k problematice vztahu mezi (marxistickým) myšlením a politickým a společenským děním a jakým způsobem konceptualizoval tzv. materialistickou dialektiku. Autor dospívá k závěru, že ve své nejoriginálnější podobě není tento způsob myšlení u Korsche odvozován ani od materiální výroby (ortodoxní marxismus), ani od koncepce totality, ale od “krize”, která poukazuje na kontradikce v rámci objektivní reality (společenského dění). Description in English The chapter maps and critically analyzes the intellectual development of Karl Korsch from his early “Fabian” beginnings through his most famous Marxist years in the 20s up to his texts from the 30s and 40s, when he subjected Marxism to criticism without ceasing to be a Marxist. The particular attention is paid to the circumstances of origin and principal ideas of his masterpiece Marxism and philosophy. The crucial issue of the chapter is constituted above all by the way Korsch approached the problem of the relationship between (Marxist) thought and political and social events and by the way he conceptualized the so called materialist dialectics. The author comes to the conclusion that in its most original form, this mode of thought is not derived from material production (orthodox Marxism), nor even from the concept of totality (Lukács), but from “crisis”, which refers to contradictions in the objective (social) reality.
