Light emitting diodes (LED) proved to be the best source of light for growth and nitrate and phosphate sequestration over FLUORA and LUMILUX light tubes. Also omega 3:omega 6 fatty acid ratio and productivities of eicosapentaenoic acid and arachidonic acid were highest under LED illumination.
