Magnetic nanofluids are stable colloidal solutions containing magnetic nanoparticles (MNP) in a polymer solution. Magnetic nanofluids have recently attracted more attention evoked by potential applications in bioengineering or hyperthermic therapy. The study of the functional nanoparticles incorporated into the polymer solution also represents an important link in fabrication of fibrous webs using electrospinning process [1]. The topic of this contribution is to characterise, in dependence on mutual concentration, the rheological properties of polyethylene (oxide) aqueous solutions with magnetic nanoparticles in the magnetic field. The MNP were prepared by the microwave assisted solvothermal method [2]. The incorporation of MNP into PEO solution shows benefit in two aspects: 1) Enhancement of magnetorheological performance in contrast to current oilbased suspensions; 2) Presence of PEO solution makes a reaction of the nanofibrous webs possible via electrospinning process exhibiting unique properties.
