Chiral analysis of an important anti-AIDS drug, 9-(R)-[2-(phosphonomethoxy)-propyl]adenine ((R)-PMPA, tenofovir) and related ANPs was accomplished by CE in alkaline background electrolytes (BGEs) using beta-cyclodextrin as chiral selector. Using the UV-absorption detection at 206 nm, the detection limits of the analyzed ANPs were in the submicromolar to low micromolar range.
