We answer the questions using data from survey Social distance (CR, 2007): Is subjective social distance related to social status attributed to 22 target occupations? If so, which are seen as reference groups? Thus, we research on inter-class differences in the average level of subjective social distance (Bogardus/Laumann scale), predict the mean distance with the socio-economic status of a specific target occupation, and analyze the patterns of distance in terms of status/class consciousness.
