The paper presents an overview of main factors responsible for diversity of flora and vegetation of sandstone areas in the Bohemian Cretaceous Basin: geodiversity (chemistry of the substrata, relief); climate (altitude, oceanity/continentality); mosaic character of the landscape; Holocene habitat history. Furthermore, the paper identifies several scales important for understanding diversity of sandstone landscapes / ecosystems / species.
Článek presentuje přehled hlavních faktorů zodpovědných za diverzitu flóra a vegetace pískovcových oblastí české křídové pánve: geodiverzita (chemismus substrátu, reliéf); klima (nadmořská výška, oceanita/kontinentalita); mozaikový charakter krajiny, holocenní historie habitatů. Dále jsou v článku identifikována měřítka diverzity důležitá pro porozumění diverzitě pískovcových krajin / ekosystémů / druhů.
