The instability of the isothermal stagnation flow is investigated theoretically, numerically and experimentally. Bistability and hysterial behavior of the impinging jet were discovered in a two-dimensional two-slot nozzle. Such behavior was not confirm by the numerical simulation, not even qualitatively. The bistability is unambiguously showed by the smoke visualization. The experimental results are supported by a simplified theoretical consideration.
