In this work we have carried out cytogenetic and sequence analysis of several synthetic Nicotiana hybrids and allopolyploids. The large number of individuals >99.9% was sterile even after chromosome doubling (2n=48). There were no apparent deviations from genetic additivity. On the other hand rare lines of fertile synthetic tobacco displayed numerous intergenomic translocations, sequence eliminations and restructuralization of repetitive sequences underlining importance of these genetic changes for establishment of a fertile successful allopolyploid.

V této práci jsme prováděli cytogenetickou a sekvenční analýzu několika linií syntetických hybridů a allopolyploidů rostlin rodu Nicotiana. Většina hybridních rostlin (>99.9%) byla sterilní, a to dokonce i po duplikaci rodičovských chromosomů (2=48). Zjistili jsme, že genomy nevykazovaly významné genetické odchylky. Naopak úspěšné fertilní allopolyploidní linie tabáku se vyznačovaly intergenomickými výměnami, eliminací některých sekvencí DNA a restrukturalizací repetitivní složky genomu, což podporuje význam těchto genetických změn pro ustanovení fertilního allopolyploidního druhu.
