Annotation	The effect of pyrolysis process conditions on the key properties of the resulting pyrolysis residues (biochar/sludge-char) was discussed. Furthermore, the possibility of application of pyrolysis residues from sewage sludge pyrolysis as a soil improver in the Czech Republic was discussed.
