AnnotationAs catalysis lowers the energy and material consumption in a given transformation, it represents an important step towards sustainability of such process. Among others, organocatalysis is gaining increasing interest in the last decades. Organocatalysts involve no expensive and potentially toxic metals and also open up new synthetic pathways, but they are usually less active than metal-based catalysts and so they have to be used in much higher loading. In this perspective, the ways of their effective separation and recycling is highly important. Here we present several approaches to recyclable organocatalysts from the class of ionic liquids (ILs).
