Description in English The review article summarizes a long term research on generation of gaseous singlet oxygen in the Institute of Physics AS. The basic principles of operation and elementary processes running in the chemical generators, namely in the jet and spray generators, and in the electric discharge generator, namely the hybrid radiofrequency/arc generator, that were originally designed, constructed and studied in the authors’ laboratory, are described. An overview of the basic methods for detection of singlet delta oxygen in gaseous phase is presented. Possibilities of using gaseous singlet oxygen for interaction experiments are discussed.
