AnnotationWe have found that meloxicam, a cyclooxygenase-2 inhibitor, administered in a single dose shortly, i.e. 1 hour, after lethal irradiation, increases survival of irradiated mice. Possible mechanisms of the therapeutic effects of meloxicam administered early after irradiation are discussed.
