Kateřiny v kostele sv. Štěpána v Kouřimi, postavená v šedesátých letech 13. století, je zaklenutá obkročnou (hvězdicovitou) klenbou na střední pilíř. V trojúhelníkovitých a kosočtverečných klenebních polích byly v letech 1999 - 2006 odkryty polopostavy a postavy dvaceti čtyř "muzicírujících" andělů, kteří v rukách drželi strunné, dechové a bicí nástroje. Malby můžeme zařadit do okruhu krásného slohu z počátku 15. století, pro který jsou typické idealizující rysy tváří postav a bohatě záhyby členěná roucha. Description in English St Catherine´s Crypt in the Church of St Stephen in Kouřim was built in the 1260s on an octagonal plan with a star vault and a central pier. Between 1999 and 2006, full and half figures of twenty-four angel "musicians" were uncovered in the triangular- and diamond-shaped vault planes. The figures are depicted holding string, wind, and percussion instruments in their hands. The paintings can be ranked as examples of the "Beautiful Style" typical elements of which are the idealisation of facial features and the depiction of rich folds on the garments.
