We describe the development of nine supplementary microsatellite markers isolated from Mastomys huberti. We show the potential utility of M. huberti microsatellites as population markers for two other species of Mastomys , and two other species of the Praomys complex, Myomys daltoni and Praomys cf. rostratus.
