The aim of the workshop was taking stock of the ongoing legislative process for an EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), present the latest research relating to CSDDD, exchange views and reflect on future development. The paper focused on the relationship between human rights and environmental due diligence, on the one hand, and climate due diligence, on the other hand, under the CSDDD. The CSDDD's departure from the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises raises the question of the responsibility of EU companies, which are covered by both the CSDDD and the Guidelines, with respect to the adverse climate change impacts.
