Studie analyzuje reflexi pohanského období v paměti šlechty 16. století. Posouvání počátků české šlechty do pohanského věku sloužilo především v soupeření mezi šlechtou a králem o původu vládní moci.

The study analyses the use of the pagan age in the memory of the nobility in the 16th century. By linking their origins to the pagan past, Bohemian noble families challenged royal claims to supremacy by representing an earlier and thus superior precedence of power in the land’s history.
