AnnotationThe results of utilization of laboratory prepared silica-based monolithic columns for the separation of highly polar compounds are presented. Silica-based monolithic capillary columns (0.1mm×150mm) prepared by acidic hydrolysis of tetramethoxysilane in the presence of polyethylene glycol and urea were evaluated under HILIC conditions employing highly polar compounds as native amino acids, purine and pyrimidine bases, nucleosides or nucleotides.
