AnnotationIn the present study, we followed the effects of subchronic administration (for 25 days) of antidepressant drug fluoxetine, alone or in combination with 3,5,3’-triiodothyronine (T3), on the metabolism of thyroid hormones in the rat. For this reason, we used radiometric enzyme assays for iodothyronine sulfotransferases (ST) and UDP-glucuronyltransferase (GT), as well as our newly developed radiometric assays for iodothyronine deiodinases of types 1, 2 and 3 (D1, D2 and D3).
