The paper deals with forest ecosystems and their management at the upper tree line in study area Jeseniky Mountains (east part of' the Czech Republic). This mountain area (1100 - 1350 metres above sea level) is considered as future national park and this fact is the reason of wide scientific discussion about forest management at the upper tree line in the frame of conservation biodiversity of mountain forest ecosystems. Based on analyse of' history and current state of mountain forest ecosystems in this study area, authors formulate principals for forest management of future national park Jeseniky in the frame of targets of Natura 2000 European network.
