Tato kapitola v knize se zabývá některými základním pojmy teoretické fyziky, které jsou vyjadřovány slovy užívanými v přirozených jazycích, zejména v češtině, němčině a angličtině - např. prostor, vesmír, síla, látka, prázdno atp. Autor se pokouší pomocí řady citací ukázat, že teoretická fyzika ve svém verbálním vyjadřování někdy nedbá zákonů přirozených jazyků, zejména způsobů, jimiž se v našich obyčejných myslích rodí obecné pojmy.

This chapter in the book deals with some basic notions used in theoretical physics as they are expressed by words used in natural languages, mainly in Czech, German and English - e. g. space, force, matter, emptiness (vacuum) etc. The author tries to show - with the aid of plenty of quotations - that theoretical physics in its verbal expression sometimes does not respect the laws of natural languages, namely the ways in which general notions are born in our ordinary minds.
