Flavonoids isolated from the medicinal herb Artemisia annua, casticin and chrysosplenol D, inhibit the major mediators of angiogenesis prostaglandin E2, nitric oxide and cytokines. Sesquiterpenes artemisinin, dihydroartemisinin, artemisinic acid, and artennuin B reduce the production of prostaglandin E2 solely.
