AnnotationHybrid magnetic nanoparticles for medicine consist of cores, usually of magnetic oxides embedded in a shell. Recently we have developed a new type of the material, based on particles of lanthanum manganese perovskite in the system La1-xSrxMnO3, magnetic properties suitably tailored for a given application, namely magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and magnetic fluid hyperthermia (MFH). Simultaneously An attention was paid simultaneously on the quality of the coating. The silica shell provides stability of the suspension and prevents toxic effects of the core material while separating it entirely from the biological system.
