AnnotationThe Ce-Zr mixed oxides have been recently examined by our group as supports for Pt and Au to create new nano catalysts for deep oxidation of two model volatile organic compounds – ethanol and toluene. Toluene is model aromatic hydrocarbon and ethanol was chosen intentionally to focus on the emerging environmental problems of nowadays such as E-85 combustion (linked to the rising biofuel production), which actually augments the output of two different carcinogens such as formaldehyde and acetaldehyde. Ce-Zr pseudogel was prepared using the sol-gel method.
