Air pollution can be studied either in situ by direct monitoring methods or, by mathematical and physical modelling. For complicated cases the methods of physical simulation of processes in the scaled down models, in wind tunnels, is the most convenient and provides the most complete picture of the pollutant distribution. Simulating the distribution of pollutants in the atmosphere using a model of future construction site at given location can prevent design flaws leading to a local accumulation of toxic substances in the air.
