However, the PP and PE flakes remain plastic. It makes possible to crush PET selectively and separate it from the mixture of plastics. Further, the separated PET reacts with ammonium water to salts. Terephtalic acid is separated by precipitation with sulfuric acid. Ethylenglycol is separated by vacuum destilation.
