To study the process of genome diploidisation we examined synthetic allopolyploids and natural allopolyploids of varying ages. In some synthetic tobacco allopolyploids, we observed genetic changes such as rDNA homogenization, deletion of retroelements and tandem repeats, genome translocations. After longer time frames (5 My) there is considerable to near complete turnover of repeated elements within these genomes.
Za účelem studia diploidizace genomu jsme zkoumali syntetické a přirozené různě staré allopolyploidní druhy. U některých syntetických allopolyploidů jsme pozorovali genetické změny jako je homogenizace rDNA, delece retroelementů a tandemových repeticí, translokace genomů. V průběhu delšího vývoje (5 mil. let) došlo k téměř úplné změně repetitivních elementů.
