Production of volatile ammonia during alkali developmental phase of wt colonies is preceded by accumulation of some amino acids (Arg, Gln, Ala, Gly and Asp) in cytosol which coincides with increased expression of amino acid metabolic genes and appearance of some particular enzymes of amino acid metabolism. None of this occurs in sok2 mutant not producing ammonia. The amino acids appear to be deaminated as the source of ammonia
Tvorbě amoniaku s alkalické vývojové fázi wt kvasinkových kolonií předchází hromadění některých aminokyselin v cytosolu (Arg, Gln, Ala, Gly a Asp). V téže době se zvyšuje i exprese genů metabolismu aminokyselin a syntéza určitých enzymů tohoto metabolismu. Nic z toho se neděje v koloniích sok2 mutanty neprodukující amoniak. Amoniak patrně pochází z deaminace aminokyselin
