The chapter defines how the concept of Ferdinand Tyrol’s artistic patronage reflects his experience from his travels to the Netherlands, which he made in his youth. The main part focuses on an important neglected source describing his stay in Netherlands by Jean de Vandenesse. Ferdinand´s collector’s policy resulted in his father Ferdinand I’s collections.
