Artykuł traktuje długą historię czeskich badań we Włoczech, szczególnie w Rzymie, bazą których były Czeska Ekspedycja Historyczna (1887-1914), Czechosłowacki Instytut Historyczny w Rzymie (1921-1939, 1945-1948) oraz Czeski Instytut Historyczny w Rzymie (od 1994 r.), i ocenia najważniejsze osiągnięcia tych badań.

The article deals with a long history of the Czech research in Italy, especially in Rome, which had infrastructural bases in the Czech Historical Expedition (1887-1914), Czechoslovak Historical Institute in Rome (1921-1939, 1945-1948) and Czech Historical Institute in Rome (since 1994), and analyzes the most important achievements of this research.
