AnnotationThe product of wastewater treatment plants, established for decades. These principals are however lately being challenged with its increasing contamination. Therefore, the ways of sewage sludge utilization must be reconsidered, which might lead to compromises on the type and amount of reused nutrients, where the most valuable component in sewage sludge is phosphorus. This paper addresses some of the problems which are challenging the well established practice of sewage sludge nutrients recovery.
