AnnotationAccording to Sellars, our talk about meanings is essentially normative: meanings are roles confered on expressions by our linguistic rules. The opponents of this view argue that there is no kind of normativity affecting semantics. In this short paper I expose the sources of Sellars's normativism and I defend it against the objections of the anti-normativists.
