    We compare simultaneos results from manual scalings and scaling using the TOPIST program. We llustrate the use of comparisons as teaching examples to improve the original TOPIST software and discuss plans to improve the quality of the digital ionogram database by providing the missing frequency-information when possible so as to significantly expand the TOPIST processing.
