Experiments on bacteria growth on copper confirmed its killing effect all bacteria. In comparison to the reference sample, the hydrogen grafted diamond film effectively reduced the number of bacteria by 60 %. This observation confirms that in specific case (i.e. proper surface termination on atomic leve), diamond can be classified as antibacterial material.
