Dům byl součástí středověké zástavby v podhradí Pražského hradu, při starobylé Jižní cestě. Postupně se z měšťansko-řemeslnického domu stával činžovní. V 2. polovině 20. století uvažováno o demolici. V 90. letech po několika stavebních peripetiích se rekonstrukce na Dům s pečovatelskou službou ujímá Ateliér KAVA.

This was one of the mediaeval houses below the Prague Castle, by the ancient Southern Road. The house serving burghers and craftsmen gradually evolved into a tenement house. Authorities contemplated demolishing the house in the second half of the 20th century. In the 1990s, after several construction episodes, the KAVA studio took over the reconstruction of the house into a community care service centre.
