In addition to its contribution to cell adhesion, E-cadherin was found to induce ligand-independent activation of the EGF receptor, likely as a result of their clustering. We analyzed E-cadherin-EGFR interactions and their consequences in A431 cell and two colorectal cancer cell lines using immunobloting and analyzes of several protein kinases activities Workplace Institute of Molecular Genetics Contact Nikol Škňouřilová, nikol.sknourilova@img.cas.cz, Tel.: 241 063 217 Year of Publishing 2005
