A detailed molluscan succession from Vrutice provides a rekord from the NW-Bohemian chernozem area. The column of excavation show two sedimentary and fauna sections corresponding to the Weichselian Lateglacial and Holocene. They provided steppe snail assemblages with a minor admixture of a few woodland elements in the Holocene, which documents the persistence of the early Holocene steppes up to the Neolithic landnam. Fully developed forest malacocoenoses of the postglacial Climatic Optimum are lacking.
Podrobně členěný sled malakofauny z Vrutice poskytl doklady z čermozemí sz. Čech. V kopaném profilu vystupují dva sledy s odlišnými sedimenty i faunou odpovídající pozdnímu glaciálu a holocénu. V obou převládá stepní malakofauna, v holocénu se slabou příměsí nečetných lesních druhů, což dokládá přetrvání stepi až do neolitické kolonizace. Plně rozvinuté malakocenózy klimatického optima chybějí.
