Serotonin can affect the oxidative burst of neutrophils both decreasing generation of reactive oxygen species including inhibition of myeloperoxidase activity and by their direct scavenging.
Serotonin může ovlivnit oxidativní vzplanutí neutrofilů jak snížením tvorby reaktivních kyslíkových metabolitů inhibicí aktivity myeloperoxidázy, tak jejich přímým vychytáváním.
