Půda obsahuje obrovské množství organismů, které jsou v mnoha vzájemných interakcích mezi sebou i s okolním prostředím. Mimořádný význam mají přímé i nepřímé interakce mezi půdními organismy a rostlinami. Ty nejdůležitější probíhají v rhizosféře a mykorhizosféře.

Soil is inhabited by a huge number of organisms, which are involved in many mu­tual interactions as well as in interactions with their environment. Among them, the direct and indirect interactions between soil organisms and plants are of exceptional significance. The most important interplays occur in the rhizosphere and the mycorhizosphere.
