Jednalo se o texty napsané učenci, literáty a náboženskými reformátory první poloviny 17. století, které reagovaly na tehdejší problémy Evropy. Výstava věnuje pozornost i ohlasům této produkce v českých zemích v období doznívající epochy císaře Rudolfa II. a v následujících letech politických, náboženských a kulturních zvratů po Bílé Hoře. Představeny zde jsou bohatě ilustrované staré tisky a rukopisy z amsterdamské knihovny Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica, z Národní knihovny, Knihovny Národního muzea a Strahovské knihovny, jež jsou ukázkami dobových intelektuálních proudů i dobové knižní a vizuální kultury. Zejména se jedná o díla zaměřená na hermetickou a rosekruciánskou filosofii počátku 17. století, která souvisí s renesanční novoplatónskou filosofií i s všenápravnými snahami typickými pro dobu Komenského a tvoří součást evropského kulturního dědictví. Description in English On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the publication of the Rosicrucian manifestoes the exhibition aims to present literary production and debate related to them. Scholars, literary figures and religious reformers of the early to mid-seventeenth century took part in it and reacted to European problems of that time. The exhibition traces also responses to this debate in post-Rudolfine Bohemia and in the years of political, religious and cultural turmoils following the defeat of the Bohemian Revolt. Among the exhibits feature richly illustrated rare printed books and manuscripts from the Amsterdam Bibliotheca Philosophica Hermetica, National Library in Prague, National Museum Library and Strahov Library. These items represent various streams of early modern intellectual and visual culture, especially early-seventeenth-century works of hermetic and Rosicrucian thought related to Neoplatonic philosophy and projects of universal reform typical for the period of Jan Amos Comenius.
