Different aqueous and organic liquids were used (distilled water, conductive aqueous solutions and selected hydrocarbons). High speed shadowgraphy was used as the main diagnostic tool.It has been found that the plasma-liquid boundary remains smooth when the liquid conductivity is significantly larger than the plasma conductivity. In the opposite case, when the plasma conductivity is significantly larger than the liquid conductivity, the distribution of current density on the plasma-liquid boundary is unstable due to liquid evaporation. Any initial surface perturbation means increase of current density in the valley of the perturbation Workplace Institute of Plasma Physics Contact Vladimíra Kebza, kebza@ipp.cas.cz, Tel.: 266 052 975 Year of Publishing 2016
