Simulations are performed on specific WEGA equilibria and its antenna launch of 2.45 GHz waves. The off-axis power deposition and the outward shift of the absorption maximum produced by increasing the magnetic field is explained by the presence of a hot electron component. Moreover, the simulations also reproduce the current density reversal at the plasma centre for low magnetic fields.
