AnnotationWe synthesized novel bioconjugates of cathepsin K inhibitor, 1-(N-benzyl-oxy-carbonylleucyl)-5-(phenylalanylleucyl)-carbo-hydrazide with a-methoxy poly(ethylene glycol), semitelechelic poly[N-(2-hydroxypropyl)-methacrylamide] and HPMA copolymers containing reactive side-chans. The inhibitory activity of macromolecular inhibitors for cysteine proteinases as well as their ability to inhibit cathepsin K activity in synovial fibroblasts were evaluated.
