Kapitola se zabývá problémem sjednocování právních předpisů v nově vytvořeném státním útvaru po první světové válce. Tomuto problému čelily i jiné státy, v Československu však byl komplikován především maďarským zněním většiny na Slovensku a na Podkarpatské Rusi platných zákonů, jakož i maďarským jazykem literatury a judikatury. Mezi českými právníky byla znalost maďarštiny mizivá, mezi Slováky, kteří tuto znalost měli, zase chyběl dostatečný počet osob s právnickým vzděláním.

The chapter deals with the problem of the unification of law in the newly created states after the First World War. Many other countries also faced this problem, but in Czechoslovakia the issue was complicated by the Hungarian language of the majority of laws in the area of Slovakia and Subcarpathia, as well as by the Hungarian language of literature and jurisprudence. Among the Czech lawyers, the knowledge of Hungarian was nearly nonexistent, and among the Slovaks who had this knowledge, was a lack of a sufficient number of persons with a legal education.
