AnnotationIn case of long-term in vivo implant placement the release of ions and wear particles from implants to the body must be limited or blocked. The histology and micro-CT study after up to one-year implantation of diamond coated cortical screws showed good osteointegration without any inflammatory reaction. The long-term stability investigation of diamond coated screw implants and the characterization of its surface after implantation were realized.
